Members of Customs Intelligence seized seized around 1.50 crore fake Indian Rupees and arrested two people at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday.
The arrestees are Abul Bashar, 40, hailing from Feni and Abdus Sobhan, 58, who came to Airport to pick up Abul Bashar.
Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Moinul Khan said Bashar arrived here at around 9:00 am from Karachi by an aircraft of Air Arabian airlines.
Tipped off, customs intelligence officials identified him just after he got down from the aircraft. Later, they recovered the Indian currencies from Bashar’s possession.
Following his statement, the customs intelligence officials detained Abdus Sobhan from outside the terminal while he was waiting for Abul Bashar.
