City Detective police of CMP rounded up two persons along with counterfeit currency note of Tk.14 thousand on Thursday night from Laldighi area in city under Kotwali thana. In an instant raid led by Asstt. Police Commissioner(North) Tahmina Takia detained them infront of Hotel Paragon.
The detained identified as Md. Islam and Afsar who hail from Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar . Concerned DB officials told that 8 counterfeil notes of Tk.500 each and 10 notes of Tk.1000 recovered from their possession. The detained confessed that these counterfeit notes were brought from Teknaf aimed at circulating in Chittagong market. A case in connection has been lodged with the concerned police station, sources said.
