Members of Narcotics Control Department (NCD) on Saturday arrested two youths with 50,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from city’s Firingibazar area.
The arrestees were identified as Nurul Absar, 32 and Abul Kashem, 42. The two hailed from Gohira coastal village under Anowara upazila of the district.
On receipt of secret information, a team of NCD, Chittagong Metro raided a pickup van at Firingibazar area around 3pm and recovered the Yaba tablets which were loaded inside scrap materials in the pickup van, said Ibrahim Khan, inspector of NCD, Kotowali zone.
“The youths brought the Yaba tablets from Gohira village of Anowara upazila to handover those to any drug trading gang in the city”, the NCD officer said that they were interrogating the detained to get more information about the destination of the Yaba consignment.A case was filed in this connection.
