2 held with 40,000 Yaba in city

Police claimed to have seized around 40,000 yaba tablets from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) and Mirpur in the capital in two separate raids on Sunday.
At HSIA, Armed Police Battalion (AAPBn) arrested an youth with 10,000 yaba tablets yesterday afternoon.
The detainee was identified as Jasim Uddin, 36, son of one Nur Ahmed from Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya upazila.
Local sauces said, Jasim was held by the law enforcers outside the domestic terminal of the airport where he was loitering suspiciously around 1:00pm.
Afterward, he confessed to carrying yaba tablets inside his custom-made belt, the official said, adding that he arrived in Dhaka from Cox’s Bazar in a Novoair flight on Sunday.
Alamgir Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police (operation and media) of AAPBn confirmed the matter to the media that a case will be filed against Jasim in this connection.
Meanwhile, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police seized 30,000 yaba pills from Mirpur’s Madhaya Paikpara area on Sunday morning.
According to a press release of DB police, on information; the detectives made a raid into a rented house of one Faruk Hossain at Madhaya Paikpara of Mirpur-1 around 12:30am.
The team also arrested Foyez Uddin, an associate of Faruk, from the house.
During interrogation, Faruk told police that they used to buy yaba pills from Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar, store the pills in Dhaka and then supply those to different districts of the country.
