Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) of Patuakhali in a drive arrested two people along with 36 deer hides in Patharghata upazila of the district Tuesday evening.
The arrestees were identified as Shahin, hailing from Barguna, and Uzzal, of Pirojpur district.
Camp captain of Patuakhali Rab-8 Assistant Super of Police Asaduzzaman said, being tipped off that some deer hides would be taken to another place from Kalmegha area for selling, a team of the elite force took position in the area.
While passing the area with the deer hides, Shahin and Uzzal started to run sensing the presence of the Rab members.
After a hot chase, Rab members arrested them along with the deer hides.
The arrestees were taken to Patuakhali camp for interrogation.
