2 held with 30 pieces of gold bars in Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two gold smugglers with 30 gold bars, weighing around 3.5 kg worth Tk two crore 17 lakh from Boroachra village under Benapole Port Police Station on yesterday noon.
The suspects were identified as Iqbal Hossain, 32, son of Abdur Razzak and Omer Faruk Roni, 34, son of Azizul Munsi of Boroachra village in Benapole Port Police Station.
Lt Col Salim Reja, Commanding Officer, 49, BGB said that, a team of the border guards, acting on a

tip-off, arrested Iqbal Hossain and Omor Faruk Roni along with 30 pieces of gold bars while they were going to India through Boroacra border. They were smuggling gold to India for a long time. They confessed to the BGB after interrogation. CO added.
Later BGB men filed a case and handed over the smugglers to Benapole Port Police.
