Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested two alleged drug dealers along with 28,500 Yaba tablets from Tikatuli area of the city on Saturday.
Tipped off, a special RAB-1 team launched a raid on a house of KM Das Lane of the area around 12:45 pm and arrested alleged drug peddlers Md Hossain, 35, and Md Sabbir Hossain Sohagh, 19, said sources at the RAB headquarters.
The team also recovered 28,500 Yaba pills and Tk 209,900 from the house.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees revealed that they brought the consignment of the contraband tablets from Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar by a Saudia Paribnahan bus.
They had long been involved in bringing Yaba tablets to Dhaka from Teknaf by buses in connivance with bus drivers and helpers, RAB claimed.
