2 held for cheating people with offering jobs in army

The Detective Branch (DB) of police on Monday night arrested two active members of a fraud ring from the capital’s Darussalam Baghbari area for cheating people on the pretext of offering jobs in the Bangladesh Army by publishing lucrative advertisements.
This information was given in a press release by the Media and Public Relations Department of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Tuesday noon.
The detainees were identified as Md. Yunusar Rahman (40), and Md Nasir.
In the drive, a fake appointment letter, four photocopies of the fake appointment letter, a seal in the name of an officer of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and 20 fake certificates were seized from them.
According to DMP sources, Yunusar Rahman and Md. Nasir took about Tk 5 lakh from one Hashibul Rahman saying that he would be given a job in the Bangladesh Army.
Earlier, a case was also registered in this regard with Mohammadpur Police Station on November 16.
After taking charge of the investigation of the case, the position of the accused was identified with the help of information and technology provided by the plaintiff.
Later DB’s Mohammadpur zonal team arrested them in a raid from Baroani Para in Bagbari under Darussalam Police Station on Monday night.
During the preliminary interrogation, the duo confessed about embezzling money in the name of giving a job in the army.
