Customs Intelligence at Chittagong International Airport seized 886 grams gold consists of 4 gold bars and gold organaments of 486 grams from four passengers came from Dubai on Tuesday night.
These expatriates arrived Chittagong airport from Dubai by Fly Dubai Air at about 8 pm on Tuesday. The present market value of these gold is approximately Tk.37 lakh, sources said. Mentionable that another 1000 grams consists of 10 gold bars recovered from two passengers arrived from Abu Dhabi by Biman Flight BG-128 in the morning of same date. Sources said in last 3 days since Sunday, customs officials seized 3902 grams gold bars worth about Tk.1.64 cr in Chittagong Airport. The trend of gold smuggling through CIA is rampant now, sources said.
