Two schoolgirls died from snakebites in separate incidents in Manirampur upazila of Jessore district early Wednesday.
Locals said a venomous snake bit Muslima Khatun,11, a class VII student of Sundalpur Mohila Dakhil Madrasa and daughter of Abdullah, a resident of Rajganj village of the upazila, at about 2:00am while she was asleep in her room, leaving her injured. Muslima was rushed to Manirampur Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared her dead.
