Two girls allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in Monirampur upazila and Jessore district town on Sunday night and Monday early morning.
In Monirampur upazila, a college girl allegedly committed suicide by pouring petrol over herself and igniting it at Nadra village early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Kulsum Khatun Champa, 18, daughter of Abdul Kashem. She applied for getting admission in Government M M College.
The deceased’s mother Jhorna Begum said she found Champa’s woke up around 1am to answer nature’s call found Champa’s burnt body at the coconut orchard near their house.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital, said sub-inspector Asaduzzaman of Monirampur Police Station.
