Two Ghanaian citizens, believed to be footballers playing in Bangladesh’s Football Leagues, were reportedly detained for carrying 7,500 yaba tablets in Chattogram early Sunday.
The detained men are Ntini Twum Frank, 27, and Richard Dzifa Appiae, 28, police said.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bakalia Police Station Mohammad Nizam Uddin said that the two Ghanaian

citizens got down from a bus in Shah Amanat Bridge area around 2:00am while heading towards Dhaka from Cox’s Bazar.
Following their suspicious movement, police challenged them and recovered the yaba pills from their possession after a search, he said, adding that the law enforcers later detained them.
During interrogation, the duo revealed that they were smuggling the drugs for one Mohammad Masud from Dhaka, the OC said.
Following the information, police arrested Masud from Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Sunday afternoon, he said.
