A tribunal here on Tuesday sentenced two men to life term imprisonment for sexually harassing a minor girl.
The convicts were identified as Shyamol Chandra,30, son of Jitendranath Roy, and his uncle Debendra Chandra Roy, 46, son of Dharani Kanto, both hailing form Chandranpath (Kacharighat) village in Aditmari upazila.
The court also fined them Tk50,000 and they will have to suffer six months more of imprisonment if they fail to pay the fine.
According to the prosecution, Shyamol harassed a 10-year-old girl sexually after getting her alone in the kitchen of the victim’s house on 29 April, 2012.
Hearing the scream of the victim, her relatives rushed in and caught Shyamol red-handed.
However, Shyamol’s uncle Debendra got him released that time.
