A court here on Sunday sentenced two people to life terms in prison for killing the driver of a human hauler and snatching his vehicle at Barpakia village in Putia upazila of Rajshahi district in 2014.
Judge Rezaul Karim of District and Sessions Judges Court of Natore handed down the verdict.
According to the prosecution, the convicts – Saiful and Babu-hired the driver Abul Kalam Mridha’s vehicle promising to go to Natore town from Bashudebpurbazar in Naldanga upazila of the district on April 27, 2014.
Later, the convicts killed Kalam and fled with the vehicle throwing the body into a roadside maize filed.
The court passed the judgement as the convicts confessed the killing, said public prosecutor of the case Sirajul Islam.
