Bangladesh Diabetic Association (BDA) President Prof Dr AK Azad and Suchana Foundation Chairperson Sayema Wazed Putul on Saturday got Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Memorial Gold Medal 2016.
The medals were awarded at a function at BIRDEM Hospital auditorium in the city. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith attended the function as chief guest.
Dr AK Azad got the award for his role in prevention of diabetes in the country while Sayema Wazed Putul for earning fame at home and abroad for her works on autism and neurodevelopment disorders.
Presided over by Freedom Fighter Dr. CM Dilwar Rana, the function was addressed by Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, BDA Secretary General Mohammad Sayeed Uddin, former Bangladesh Permanent Representative to UN Dr AK Abdul Momen. Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Smriti Parishad Adviser Prof A R Khan and BIRDEM Hospital Director General Prof. Nazmun Ara, among others.
