Two separate fire incidents took place in the city’s Bhashantek and CRP Hospital in the Mirpur area on Friday.
At Bhashantek, a fire broke out in a slum at about 01:15 pm and soon engulfed the adjacent shanties.
On information, fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze in one hour of hectic efforts.
Fire Service sources said, the reason behind the fire and amount of loss could not be known instantly.
Fire also broke out at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP) in the city’s Mirpur area on Friday evening.
Fire Brigade control room Duty Officer Atiur Rahman said that the fire originated on the top floor of the seven-storey building of the centre, well known as Mirpur CRP, Mirpur Section-14 at about 6:20 pm.
Being informed, seven firefighting units rushed in and doused the flame around 7:15pm, he said.
The reason behind the fire could not be known yet. No injury was also reported immediately.
