Kotwali thana police of CMP rounded up two fake Detective police from Rahamatgonj area under Kotwali thana on Thursday night while taking preparations for committing dacoity .
These fake DB policemen detained at about 7 pm. The detained indentified as Nandan Das alias Babul and Arif Moinuddin. CMP public relations office sources said acting on secret information about their presence in the area , police conducted raid and managed to a pprehend them with arms and police equipment .
Police release said these fake police were rounded up when they run away after getting from a microbus near Kasum Kumari Girls High School .
Sources said about 5-6 persons quickly get down from the transport but police managed to apprehend only two persons alongwith arms. After searching their bodies, recovered one short gun,police handcuff , 4 round cartridges, one baton, one toy pistol, one wireless set, two CMP police jackets packed in a handbag, one police cap, one whistle , one ointment .
The detained confessed themselves as fake DB police while interrogating and said they used to commit dacoity, hijack in the name of DB police since long.
Police sources said, they are shouldering a number criminal cases in different thanas in chittagong . A case in connection has been lodged with the Kotwali thana, sources added.
