Department of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) its supported by CAB have drives two electrical traders in Kishoreganj Town on Tuesday and fined Tk. 2OO,OOO for fake, substandard and charging high prices of electrical goods.
The convicted two taders are Masud Rana of Shorna Electric Store fined Tk. 100,000 and Md.Shakib of Shakib Electric Traders find Tk.100,000.
The operation led by DNCRP Assistant Director (AD) Rahday Ronjon Bonik and its supported others government officials including Police. DNCRP AD Rehdoy Ronjon Bonik said that , the traders were penalized for fake, substandard and charging higher prices of electrical goods against maximum retail prices, creating artificial crises, not mentioning prices on products, not giving receipts to buyers and not saving purchase and sale receipts.
At the same time, the traders were warned and instructed to sell electrical
goods at fair prices.
DNCRP also said such operations against dishonest traders of electric and
other products will continue in the future.
CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito said that, We are making traders and consumers aware through distribution of leaflets
besides informing them about the Consumer Rights Protection Act. We urge all
concerned to take legal assistance against any dishonest traders,” he added.
