Two meritorious students of the Department of Geography and Environment of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “AQM Mohiuddin Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship” for their outstanding academic results in BS Honours examination of 2013. Awardees are Yasin Wahid Rabby and Nazmoon Nahar Sumiya. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the scholarship among the students as the chief guest at a function on Monday at the VC’s office.
DU Treasurer Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Chairman of the Department of Geography & Environment Prof Dr Md Abdur Rob, Trustee of the Fund Prof Dr Naznin Afrose Haq, acting Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman and some Faculty members were present on this occasion.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique congratulated the awardees. He urged the students to make themselves enlightened human being to ensure socio-economic development of the country. He thanked the donor for her donation to set-up this trust fund.
It may be mentioned that Dr Naznin Afrose Haq, Prof of the Department of Geography & Environment of DU had donated money to set up “AQM Mohiuddin Memorial Trust Fund” at Dhaka University in memory of her father.
