Two Dhaka University admission aspirants were injured as police charged baton on them on Sunday while they were staging demonstrations at Shahbagh demanding the withdrawal of the DU authorities’ decision not to allow them to sit for its admission test twice.
Earlier, they held a rally at premise of Raju Scultpure about 2.00pm. After the rally when they started to march towards the Prime Minister’ s Office to submit a memorandum police obstructed them at Shahbagh.
At one stage, police charged baton to disperse them, leaving two students injured. They also detained three students from the spot.
The detainees are: Shakil, Ahasan Habib and Rieas. Recently the Dhaka University authorities decided to allow only freshly passed HSC students to appear at its admission tests for a single year from the 2015-16 academic session, aiming to create an equal opportunity for all the aspirants
