Chittagong Metropolitan Police in a raid arrested two drug peddlers with 1,505 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from Karnaphuli Bridge area in the port city early yesterday.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Yousuf, 32, son of late Mohammad Hanif, a resident of Bhola district. The other one is Rahima Begum,38, wife of late Shafiullah, hailing from Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
On receipt of secret information, Bakalia thana police raided a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of S Alam Transport Service coming from Cox’s Bazar at Karnaphuli Bridge area around 2-30am and arrested them with the Yaba tablets, said Mohammad Mohsin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bakalia police station.
A case was filed in this connection.
