Two people died allegedly after drinking excessive liquor during the Durga Puja celebrations in separate incidents in Jashore and Jhenaidah districts.
The deceased were identified as Dipu Das, 30, son of Sunil Das of Dharmatala of Sadar upazila here, and Munna Das, 35, son of Akhil Das of Collegpara in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah.
Munna fell sick after galloping excessive liquor on Thursday night.
He was first taken to Sadar Upazila Health Complex and then shifted to Sadar Hospital where he died in the morning.
Dipu also took excessive liquor on Thursday night and fell sick.
He was taken to Jashore Sadar Hospital where he died around 7am.
Sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station Shahidul Islam said the bodies were sent to morgue for autopsy.
Following interrogation, police arrested the other members of the gang.
The gang had long been involved in cheating people using bKash app.
