Two persons, including a constable, have died in separate incidents in the city and district. The deceased were identified as Abul Kashem, 50, a constable of Patiya police station and Sumon, 3 a sawmill worker.
Police said Sumon was critically injured as a big log fell on him while he was working at a sawmill located in Sagarika area under city’s Pahartali thana around 9:30pm on Saturday.
He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the attending doctors declared him dead, said Nayek Amir Hossain of CMCH police outpost. Meanwhile, constable Kashem suddenly fell sick while he was on duty at Patiya police station this morning.
