2 die after ‘taking liquor’ in Sirajganj

Two people, including a local Jubo League leader, have died and three others fallen sick allegedly after taking liquor at Soydabad of Sadar upazila.
The deceased are Alam Sheikh, 42, son of Jamat Ali Sheikh of Soyedabad and general secretary of Jubo League’s ward-9 of Soydabad union, and Ramjan Ali, 45, from Konabari village of Belkuchi upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Rafiqul Islam said Alam Sheikh and Ramjan along with three labourers galloped liquor in Soydabar rehabilitation area on Thursday night and fell ill.
Of them, Ramjan died at Sirajganj Sadar Hospital on Friday night while Alam around 2pm on Saturday, he added.
The three other labourers are Seraj, 35, Badshah, 42, and Alam, 38.
