The touring Afghanistan scored 242 for the loss of six wickets in their first innings against Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI on the first day of the two-dayer practice match at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday.
After winning in the coin session, Afghanistan decided to bat first.
Afghanistan made a good start as Ihsanullah and Ibrahim Zadran put on together 114 runs. Ihsanullah notched up a sedate 62. His 137-ball innings was laced with seven fours and a sixer before he was retired hurt.
Ibrahim Zadran made a calm 52. His 124-ball knock was studded with six fours before he was retired hurt.
Mohammad Nabi was the other batsman, who shone with the willow making 33 before he was trapped leg before wicket by Sumon Khan. Mohammad Nabi hit one four and one six in his innings.
Hashmatullah Shahidi and Afsar Zazai added 26 and 20 (not out) runs respectively to the tourists total.
Al Amin (Junior) was the day’s most successful bowler. He captured four wickets at the cost of 51 runs. Sumon Khan bagged a pair of wickets instead of 21 runs.
