A two-day international conference on endocrinology began at a city hotel on Friday with the participation of around 400 endocrinologists and diabetes experts from home and abroad.
Bangladesh Endocrine Society (BES) organized the conference along with its annual general meeting (AGM), said a press release.
Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (DAB) President Professor Dr AK Azad Khan attended the inaugural session of the conference as the chief guest with BES President Professor Dr Md Faruk Pathan was in the chair.
Prof Hajera Mahtab, Prof AR Khan, Prof Zafar Ahmed Latif and Professor Kishwar Azad attended the function as the special guests. BES Vice-President Prof Md Farid Uddin and Organizing Secretary Dr Shahjada Selim were present on the occasion, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof AK Azad Khan said nowadays endocrine disorders are very common in the world.
He expressed his hope that BES will play an active role in the field of endocrine treatment in the country.
Noted five endocrinologists from different countries and eight from home will present keynote papers in the two-day conference.
