2-day DU festival held in Kolkata

A two-day “Dhaka University (DU) Festival” began at Rabindra Bharati University (RBU) in Kolkata on Friday.
DU and RBU jointly organized the festival while DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the occasion, a DU press release said on Saturday.
RBU VC Professor Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury was present at the function, among others.
The speakers said that such an endeavor would broaden the academic and cultural field between Bangladesh and India while different doors of communication already have opened between the two countries, the release added.They also hoped that the bilateral relationship will be developed between the students of DU and RBU through this cross cultural function, it said.
The DU Music department presented country song at the first day of the festival while the department presented folk song and Dance department staged dance-drama “Sonai Madhab” on Saturday at the last day of the festival.
Chairman of DU Dance department Prof Rezwana Choudhury and Chairman of DU Music department Prof Mohsina Akhter Khanom (Lina Taposhi) along with 25 teachers and students of duo departments took part on the occasion, the release added.A Rabindra Bharati festival is also expected to be held at Dhaka University in a convenient period between February and March 2017.
