2-day Buddhist Fellowship Confce begins in US

Two-day ‘Buddhist Fellowship Conference 2017’ began on Saturday at Arlington in Virginia, the USA.
International Buddhist Peace Organization (IBPO) is organizing the conference at Hotel Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel, said a press release.
Expatriate Bangladeshi Buddhists from across the USA and other parts of the world are joining the conference.
President and Vice-Chancellor of University of Western Ontario, Canada, Dr Amit Chakma addressed the conference as chief guest while Dr Jitendra Lal Barua spoke as special guest. Dr Shyamol Chowdhury delivered the keynote paper.
The core objective of the conference is to make a platform for all irrespective of religion and faith for making contributions to establish world peace, the release said, adding a wide range of issues related to world peace, spiritualism and religion will be discussed during the conference.
Earlier, a 19-member conference organizing committee was formed with Ashim Barua as convener and Jewel Barua as joint convener of the conference.
