Two students of Chittagong University drowned while bathing in a waterfall near Arts Faculty of the campus here on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Naimul Hasan Pavel, 22 and Asaduzzaman Rifat, 22, 1st year students of Human Resource Management of the university.
Shakib Iftekhar, a batch mate of the deceased, said seven students of the department went to the waterfall for taking bath. At one stage, both Naimul and Rifat slipped into the lake adjacent to the waterfall and drowned.
On information, a team of fire service men rushed in and recovered the bodies of the two students from the lake around 5:15 pm, said Firoz Khan, in-charge of Hathazari Fire Station.
