BCL factional clash: 2 CU BCL men held

Police in a drive held two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student front of ruling Awami League, from Chittagong University (CU) campus on Thursday afternoon.
The detained were identified as M Imran, student of English Department and M Rakib, student of History Department also activists of CU unit of BCL.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Hathazari Police Station M Salauddin said a team of police conducted a drive on the campus around 2:00pm and held them following Tuesday night’s BCL factional clash. Sources concerned said the CU unit of BCL locked in a factional clash on the university’s Suhrawardi Hall premises on Tuesday night and next day another fierce clash, leaving at least five rooms vandalised.
Meanwhile, the central committee of BCL on Wednesday suspended the committee of CU unit of BCL following the clash. The central committee also asked CU unit BCL President Alamgir Tipu and General Secretary HM Fazle Rabbi Sujon to explain about their roles during the clashes among the BCL men.
