Two unidentified people, including a woman, have been killed as trains hit them in separate incidents in the city’s Nakhalpara and Airport Railway Station areas.
Sources at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said a 40-year-old woman was hit by a speedy train on the rail tracks near Nakhalpara Kitchen Market on Saturday morning. She died on the spot.
Being informed, assistant sub-inspector Sirajul Islam of Kamalapur Railway Police Station recovered the body around 11:25 am and sent it to the DMCH for postmortem.
Earlier on Friday, a 65-year-old man was hit by the intercity train ‘Silk City’ near the Airport Railway
Station at about 3:30 pm.
He was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 6:30 pm. Being informed, a team of railway police recovered the body and sent it to the DMCH for autopsy on Saturday morning.
