2 cops remanded in Manikganj rape case

Saturia Police arrested two police on the charge of raping a girl for two days and produced them in the court with remand prayer. The court granted six days remand on Tuesday to interrogate the accused.
 The rape accused were identified as Sub-inspector Sekendar Hossain and Assistant Sub-inspector Mazharul Islam.
Judge Md Golam Sarwar of Judicial Magistrate Court-7 passed the order when police produced them in the court with a 10-day remand petition.
Manikganj Additional Superintendent of Police Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed the news media. Earlier in the day, the two police officers have been arrested in a rape case filed against them.
Aminur Rahman, Officer in-Charge of Saturia Police Station, told media that the two police officers were arrested yesterday.
Earlier on Monday (Feb 11) night, the victim filed a rape case with Saturia Police Station accusing the two police officers.
Earlier, the woman filed written complaint to Manikganj Superintendent of Police (SP) against the duo.
It is noted that following the claim, the police officials have been withdrawn from the Saturia Police Station instantly and attached to Manikganj Police Lines.
According to the complaint, the victim had been held captive for two days last week and raped by the two police officials repeatedly.
