2 cops hurt in Ctg bomb blast

Two policemen sustained injuries as a crude bomb blasted at Pahartali police station in the city on Thursday midnight.
The injured were identified as Jahangir Uddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge (investigation) and sub-inspector Fazlul Haque of the police station.
Sources at Pahartali police station said in a drive they seized several crude bombs, some bomb making materials and two LGs from ‘Kutumbari Restaurant’ near the police station around 11:30pm. They arrested a man named Bashir Ahmed from the restaurant and took him to the police station along with the crude bombs and bomb making materials.
One of the crude bombs went off in the store room of the police station around 12:15am, leaving the duo injured.
The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Later, Jahangir was shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Chittagong as his condition deteriorated.
