Ongoing crackdown against casino: 2 cases filed against Samrat, Arman

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has filed two cases against expelled Jubo League (JL) leaders Ismail Hossain Samrat and his accomplice Enamul Haq Arman.
The cases against Samrat and Arman were filed with the Ramna Police Station on Monday.
Samrat was sued under narcotics and arms acts, while Arman was charged under the Narcotics Act, said RAB Legal and Media Wing Assistant Director Mizanur Rahman.
On Sunday, hours after their arrest Jubo League leaders Ismail Hossain Samrat and Enamul Hoque Arman were jailed by a mobile court for six months for wildlife law violations and drunkenness respectively.
The due were then sent to jail, said RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam.
Samrat, allegedly a top casino kingpin, was sentenced under the Bangladesh Wildlife Preservation Act after a RAB raid found the hide of two kangaroos at his Kakrail office in Dhaka.
The Executive Magistrate added that Arman faced imprisonment as he was drunk while being arrested along with Samrat from the Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla on Sunday.
Several hours later, Dhaka South City unit Jubo League President Ismail Chowdhury Samrat and Vice President Arman were expelled from the ruling party’s youth wing for breaching party discipline and carrying out unethical practices.
