The Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, Chittagong on Monday has sent two businessmen of Chittagong to jail in connection of a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The said two businessmen are identified as Shohrab Hossain, owner of Sun Trade International and Mohammed Absar, owner C & F agent N H Trading. Public Prosecutor of ACC Advocate Sanwar Hossain Lavlo said ACC filed a case against Shohrab Hossain and Mohammed Absar on April 26 last for importing goods by fake declaration.
They appealed before the High Court for bail. The HC granted them bail for six weeks and directed them to surrender before lower court and appeal for bail after ending the six weeks bail.
As a result, both the accused surrendered before the court of the Chittagong Metropolitan Session Judge Mohammed Shah E Noor and appealed for bail yesterday. The court rejected their bail petition and directed the police to send them to jail.
