A team of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) here today realized Taka 40,000 as fine from the owners of two business establishments in BSCIC industrial area for manufacturing puffed rice using unapproved salt and marketing those.
Assistant director of DNCRP Asadul Islam said they conducted the drive at M/S Bengal Food as well as M/S Tanvir Food Products and fined the business establishments Tk 20,000 each.
Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted the team.
The DNCRP will enhance its surveillance to ensure sale and marketing of safe Iftar items during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, he added.
