Two people sustained bullet injuries as they tried to resist a group of muggers at South Keranigonj near Shamsu Filling Station on Saturday.
The injured were identified as Ali Hossain, 18, and his paternal uncle Shahabuddin, 40.
The incident took place at around 1:40 pm when 4-5 muggers ridding two
motorcycles intercepted a ‘Leguna’ (small passenger vehicle) near the filling station in Abdullahpur area. As the gangsters tried to snatch away valuables from the passengers, Ali and Shahabuddin tried to resist them, said officer-in-charge of South Keranigonj Police Station Monir Hossain.
The muggers fired gunshots and fled from the scene while Ali and Shahabuddin sustained bullet injurie, said the OC adding that three female relatives of the two injured people were also accompanying them when the incident took place. They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
