Several mobile courts of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) have found Aedes larvae in 3136 buildings out of 9934 buildings during the inspection on Sunday.
The Executive Magistrate has awarded jail two persons each for a day and some other mobile court also fined Tk 2.37 lakh to six building owners and a construction company.
The house owners who were sent to jail are Md. Shaju, 45, and Md. Nazrul Islam, 30, said Uttam Kumar Roy, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the the DSCC.
A mobile court led by DSCC’s Executive Magistrate Mizanur Rahman launched separate drives in two houses at Science Lab Mirpur road on Sunday and found Aedes mosquito larvae there during inspection, the release said.
Meanwhile, some mobile courts as part of the massive drive inspected 9,736 buildings and found Aedes breeding grounds in 258 houses, according to a press release of the DNCC.
At this time, the GS construction company were fined a total of Tk two lakh for housing Aedes larvae, said ASM Mamun, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of DNCC.
