Two bodies were recovered in the city on Wednesday and Tuesday night.
Body of a travel agency worker was recovered from a bus of Probhati Banasree-Paribahan at Gulistan in the capital on Wednesday. The victim has been identified as Abdul Matin, 50, police said.
Quoting the witnesses, an official of Police Outpost in the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) said that that some locals found Matin in an unconscious state inside a bus and rushed him to the
hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead at around 2:00pm.
Matin used to work for a non-government travel agency at Motijheel. He comes from Rupganj of Narayanganj, he added. The body was sent to the morgue of the DMCH for autopsy, he added.
The doctors said that primarily they thought that the victim might become unconscious by taking toxic food given by a gang of Ogyan party.
Meanwhile, an old woman’s beheaded body was recovered at Kafrul in the city on Tuesday night. The victim has been identified as Shafia Begum, 70, and wife of Abdul Latif, police said.
Kafrul Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Tofael Ahmed said that police recovered the beheaded body at North Kafrul. Her hands and legs were tied with string.
The body was sent to the morgue of the DMCH for autopsy, he further said.
