2 Biman officials held with 4.6kgs gold at Ctg Airport

Customs Intelligence officials in Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport detained two employees of Bangladesh Biman alongwith 40 gold bars measuring about 5 kgs worth about Tk.2.30 cr .
The detained Biman employees are Md. Belal Hossain and Sheikh Kamal. According to Customs sources of SAIA , these gold consignment brought in the flight of Fly Dubai airlines from Dubai airport packed in cigarette cartoons.
The Fly Dubai flight landed at airport at 9.30 am yesterday. Asstt. customs commissioner Mr. Daipayan Chakma told that during the handling of the cargo of the flight, these two Biman traffic assistant took away the gol d carton in their possession before reaching these flight cargo in coneyor belt . Suspecting the movement of these Biman cargo assistant, customs intelligence officials detained them and after checking the cigarette cartons and bodies, these gold bars were detected .
Mentionable that Bangladesh Biman is the cargo handling agent of the foreign airliners in Chittagong Airport . Customs Intelligence officer Mukadas Ali told that after lodging departmental case, these employees will be handed over to police, sources said.
Police is interrogating the detained Biman employees to know the consigner and consignee of these gold , sources said.
