At least two riders of a motorbike were killed in a tragic road accident when it collided with a passenger bus on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway on Thursday noon.
The accident took place at Mahmudabab of Raipura upazila of the district around 2pm.
The victims were identified as Tofazzal Hossain Tapu,42, son of one Hazrat ali from Khakchar village, and Alamgir Khandker,36, son of one Fazlur Rahman from the same area.
Local sources said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Uttara Paribahan from Brahmanbaria
rammed into the motorcycle in Mahmudabad area at about 2pm that left both riders dead on the spot.
Saidul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Bhairob Highway Police Station confirmed the matter to the media and said that the deceased’s body had been handed over to the families after autopsy.
Police also seized the bus from the spot, SI added.
