Two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) of Ashulia Police Station have been withdrawn on the charge of taking bribe from a man at Baroipara in Ashulia of Savar upazila in Dhaka.
They were attached to the police line on Tuesday for the sake of proper investigation of the charge against them. They are Nantu Krisna Majumder and Rawshan Ali, said Abdul Awal, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia Police Station.
It was alleged that the two cops on Monday detained a man named Mahbub from Baroipara at Ashulia and demanded bribe from him, the OC said.
Police, however, arrested a police source named Rasel in this connection, according to him.
“Police are investigating the incident and the report would be submitted to the higher authorities soon,” he added.
