Two women succumbed to their burn injures in the city’s Ashkona area at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday.
The victims have been identified as Rehana Akhter, 40, wife of Saudi Arabia expatriate Abul Kashem, and housemaid Sakina, 42, said Mozammel Haque, In-Charge of DMCH Police Outpost. H said that Rehana died at the Burn Unit of the hospital around 11:30am, the police official said.
Earlier, housemaid Sakina, who also received burn injuries in the incident, breathed her last at about 3.30am, he said.
Sakina was undergoing treatment there, he said.
On Sunday, four members of a family and their housemaid Sakina received burn injuries in an explosion from leak of a gas burner in the city’s Ashkona area.
