Two people, who suffered burn injuries in separate arson attacks by miscreants in Rupganj of Narayanganj
district on February 25 and 27, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday.
Bus contractor Shakil Ahmed, 17, son of Jasim Uddin of Kazir Char in Muladi upazila of Barisal district, who sustained injuries in an arson attack on his vehicle on February 25, succumbed to his injuries at the burn unit of DMCH around 3:45pm,
 sources at the DMCH said. On February 25, miscreants set fire to a parked bus near Gausia filling station in Rupganj of Narayanganj district early in the morning after pouring petrol while Shakil and bus helper Yasin were sleeping inside the vehicle, leaving them injured. Shakil with 50 per cent and Yeasin with 14 percent burn injuries were admitted to the DMCH.
In another incident, Kabir Sheikh, 30, a worker of Mahbub Spinning Mills in Bhulta of Narayanganj district, who received injuries in an arson attack by miscreants in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on Friday night, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital around 4.00 am.
Six workers of the spinning mill suffered injuries, including five with burns, in the arson attack on a pickup van in Rupganj on Friday night.
