Two persons were arrested with 630 liters home-made wine from a residence at Dashani Purbo Para within Bagerhat district town at Saturday midnight by a contingent of DB police, Bagerhat. The arrested persons are identified as Al-Imran Shaikh (28), son of one Ishaq Ali Shaikh of village Sankibhanga under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district and Sarwar Shaikh (38), son of one late Dhala Mia Shaikh of village Najirpur in Pirojpur district.
Rezaul Karim, Officer-in-charge of Bagerhat of DB police told, acting on secret information that home made wine is being sold secretly in a residence belonging to one late Abbas Uddin at Dashani of the district town a squad of DB police led by SI Zahirul Islam and SI Dipankar Mandol raided the house at Saturday midnight, seized the home made wine (630 liters) and arrested those 2 persons from there. The arrested persons had been doing this illegal profession in the rented house for long secretly. In this connection a case was lodged with the local PS under Narcotic Act.
