Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested two alleged arms traders with a foreign made pistol, six rounds of bullet and two magazines from Raninagar village under Shibganj upazila of the district on Saturday.
The arrested persons were identified as Md Masud Rana, 24, son of Md Mobarak Hossain of Raninagar Hatatpara village and Md Nazim Uddin, 21, son of Md Anisur Rahman of Raninagar Baganpara village both under Shibganj upazila of the district.
RAB said on secret information, an operation team of RAB from Chapainawabganj camp raided the aforesaid area at around 4:45 pm and held them with the arms and ammunition.
During primary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted of their involvement in illegal arms trading, the sources added.
Later, the arrested persons were handed over to the police of Shibganj thana with a case.
