6th step Elections were held on January 31 in 7 unions of Shibalayaupazila. In this, 5 independent, 2 chairman candidates of Awami League have won.
Independent chairman candidate of Teota Union No. 1 of the upazila Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain has won. He was elected chairman with more than 188 votes from his closest rival the Awami League’s boat symbol candidate Abul Basar.
Abbas Ali, the Awami League’s boat symbol candidate in Uthli Union No. 2, won with 1,720 votes more than his nearest rival, independent candidate Masudur Rahman Masud, a four-time elected chairman.
Meanwhile, the independent candidate in the 3 No Shibalaya Union Alal Uddin Alal got more than 3,115 votes and won by defeating his rival independent candidate MohsinRaju.
On the other hand, independent candidate in the 4 No. Ulail UP election Anisur Rahman Anis won by almost twice as many votes as his only rival, the boatman Abdul Mannan. Independent candidate Monaim Muntakim Rahman Khan (Anik) defeated his rival Boat Symbol candidate Akhtaruzzaman Khan Masumin the 5 NoArua Union Parishad election.
On the other hand, independent candidate in the 6 No Mahadevpur UP election Shahjahan won with 633 votes more than his nearest rival independent candidate Mahmudul Amin Duke. Besides, Zahir Uddin Manik, the boat symbol candidate won the 7 No Shimulia UP election by defeating his nearest rival, independent candidate Abdur Rahman.
