A mobile court of Chittagong Port Authority convicted two addicts with Tk One lakh for alleged physical torturing to port employees entering in the jetty area in abnormal condition by taking drugs.
Port Executive Magistrate Dr. Anupam Saha imposed the penalty of Tk one lakh to them on Thursday evening.
These two addicts identified as Sahed Box of Noakhali and Mostakim Billah of Kishoregonj. While contacted, the port secretary Zaker Hossain confirmed the matter to this correspondent.
Port sources said these two drug addicts entered the port area on Wednesday midnight and indiscriminately tortured the on-duty employees of port while resist them .
Sensing the news, port security men rushed to the spot and rounded up them and placed before the port court on next day.
Mobile court convicted them with penalty of Tk.50 thousand each for unauthorized entrance inside the port restricted areas and physical torturing to the port workers, sources said.
