Two accused Turab Ali Mollah (48) and Shamim (42) were sentenced to death by Additional Sessions Judge of Natore district Md Saifur Rahman Siddiki on Monday for murdering a AL leader Dr. Aynul Haque (70). The Judge discharged accused 11 persons from the case after examining the evidence. They were Sohrab Mollah, Ataur Rahman, Lutfor Rahman, Abdus Salam, Nazmul Mollah, Rezaul Islam, Mamun Hossain, Abdur Rahim, Bhuttu, Anisur Rahman and Boyen Uddin. They were not proved guilty. Another four accused persons former Principal of Bonpara Degree College Ekramul Alam, former Chaiman of Machgao Union Parishad Saher Uddin Mollah, BNP leader Alam Uddin and Sentu were released because they were died of disease in this time.
Murdered Dr. Aynul Haque was a he son of also Tinu Kabiraj of the village of Mohisvanga under Baraigram uapazila. He was a former President of then Baraigram thana Awami League and former Chairman of Machgao Union Parishad. His murderers Turab Ali Mollah was a son of Bahar Uddin Mollah and Shamim a son of Palan Uddin of the village of Mohisvanga. The prosecution story was that at about 7 pm on 28 March, 2002, firstly Jubo Dal leader Alam Hossain Mollah was killed with gun-firing at the Hiramon Cinema Hall of Bonpara bipass area by a few miscreants. As a result, secondly a few BNP supporters with rods, chinese axes, lathis, strips, lethal weapons etc. attacked AL leader Dr. Aynul Haque at about 9 pm on 28 March, 2002 at the side of a clinic of Dr. Anserul Islam of Bonpara. He became seriously injured. Then he was taken at Rajsahi Medical Colleg Hospital in that night. But on next day, Dr. Aynul Haque 29 March, 2002 died there under treatment. His daughter-in-law Nazma Begum filed a case at Baraigram thana in this connection. Then after investigation, police sumitted a charge sheet against 17 persons who were all supporters of BNP including the President of BNP Baraigram thana unit Ekramul Alam, former Chaiman of Machgao Union Parishad Saher Uddin Mollah.
After 18 years, on last Monday,Natore district Additional Sessions Judge Md Saifur Rahman Siddiki sentenced to death 2 killers through hanging. The government PP Md Shohagh conducted the case in favour of murdered Dr. Aynul Haque and Advocate Md Muzammel Haque Montu conducted it in favour of murderers. The Lawyers of both side are not satisfied hearing this sentence of death. Both Lawyers declared at the court to this correspondent that they would go to High Court for expected good result.
