A Dhaka court on Monday placed two accused in Khijir Khan murder case on a five-day fresh remand each.
Magistrate Yunus Khan of Dhaka CMM Court passed the order. The accused persons are: Tarequl alias Mithu, who is learnt to be a member of the banned militant outfit
Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) and Alek Bepary, the driver of the vehicle used by the killers of former PDB Chairman Khijir Khan during the murder.
Earlier, the Investigation Officer sought a ten-day remand. The accused were produced to the court on completion of the three-day remand.
On October 5, miscreants slaughtered Khijir Khan, 66. He was also known as a peer and used to conduct his activities at his Khanka Sharif (venue for meeting his disciples) at Gudaraghat in the city’s Madhya Badda area.
